FAQs — Personal Training in South Tempe

Everything most people ask before their first session — answered straight.

Is this program really designed for people my age and fitness level?

Yes — while our programs are primarily designed for adults 40-70+, we welcome members of all ages and fitness levels. Whether you're brand new to strength training or returning after time off, our expert coaches and supportive small-group format ensure you feel confident, safe, and empowered every step of the way.

What is the Starting Point Session and what can I expect during it?

The Starting Point Session is a complimentary, no-pressure consultation focused on understanding your goals, lifestyle, and any physical considerations. You'll complete an InBody body composition analysis and a functional movement assessment, allowing us to provide personalized recommendations based on your needs and goals.

What is an InBody Scan and why is it helpful?

The InBody Scan is a quick, non-invasive assessment that measures body composition, including muscle mass, body fat, and water balance. It provides a more complete picture than weight alone and helps us make personalized recommendations based on your body composition and goals.

Do I have to be in shape already to join?

Not at all. Many of our members are new to strength training or returning after time away. We meet you where you are, providing individualized coaching and expert guidance in every session. You'll train in a supportive environment with programming tailored to your abilities, experience, and goals.

What makes Alloy different from other gyms or trainers?

Unlike crowded classes or impersonal gyms, Alloy offers expert-led small group personal training in a welcoming, age-appropriate environment. You'll get individualized attention, accountability, and real results—without feeling like you're on your own.

Will I be working out in a big group or getting personal attention?

Our sessions are limited to 6 people per coach, so you'll always get plenty of individual attention throughout the session, all while gaining motivation and support from other folks in the session!

I have an old injury (bad knee, shoulder, back). Can I still train at Alloy?

Yes, and you're in the majority. Many of our members come to us with a previous injury, joint issue, or physical limitation. We learn your history during your Starting Point Session and builds modifications directly into your program, so you train hard where you can and smart where you need to. Many members tell us this is the first place they've trained without pain.

What does a typical session look like?

Every session is about 55 minutes, coach-led from start to finish. You'll follow a program designed for your body: a guided warm-up, strength training scaled to your level, and coaching to keep you safe. No wandering around a gym floor wondering what to do next.

How much does it cost?

Membership depends on how often you train, and the right frequency depends on your goals, which is exactly what we work out together in your complimentary Starting Point Session. We'll give you straightforward pricing there, with no pressure and no games.

Is this like CrossFit or a bootcamp?

No. There are no competitions, no whiteboard leaderboards, and no pushing through pain. Alloy is structured strength training with a coach who knows your name and your limits, in groups small enough that nothing gets missed.
